Volleyball: East Hall sets new wins mark

WINDER -- The East Hall girls volleyball set a new school record for wins in a season after beating Winder-Barrow in a tri-match Tuesday at Winder-Barrow High School.

The Lady Vikings won their 17th match of the season with 25-12, 25-11 win over the Lady Bulldoggs. They then lost to Apalachee 25-22, 25-12 in the second match.

Brittney Cambell paced East Hall with three aces, 13 assists and two digs. Kara Hix had three aces, eight kills and four digs, Emily Hoggard added five kills, four digs and three blocks, and Tarryn Long had one ace, seven kills, and three digs.

Latisha Shelton had two kills, one assist, and five digs, Sydney Farley added one ace, two digs and one assist, and Kaleigh Duckworth had a seven-point scoring run against Winder Barrow.

East Hall next will play host to Rabun County, Lumpkin County, and Pinecrest Academy on Thursday in a quad match.
