ATHENS -- Georgia running back Isaiah Crowell has been named one of the Southeastern Conference Co-Freshmen of the Week following his performance versus No. 12 South Carolina, according to a league announcement on Monday.

Crowell, a 5-11, 215-pound native of Columbus, rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries (7.4 average) against the Gamecocks. He also snagged the first two receptions of his career for 40 yards, including a 17-yard touchdown from quarterback Aaron Murray.

Crowell's scoring catch capped a 43-yard drive in which the Bulldog freshman accounted for all of the yards on both of his receptions and a rush.

The SEC also honored Kentucky running back Josh Clemons with the honor. This marks the first SEC weekly honor for a Bulldog this year.

The Bulldogs (0-2, 0-1 SEC) host Coastal Carolina (2-0) on Saturday at 1 p.m. The game will be on pay-per-view.
