City reapportionment, GMC proposal on GCC agenda tonight

GAINESVILLE - The Gainesville City Council (gcc) holds a public hearing tonight on reapportionment of the city's political wards.

The council meets in regular session at 5:30 and the public hearing will be a part of that meeting which will be held at the city's public safety building on Queen City Parkway.

Also tonight, the council is expected to take its first vote on a proposal from Brenau University to assume responsibility for operating the Georgia Mountains Center (GMC).

The school pitched the idea to the council last week.
