FLASH FLOOD WATCH; WIND ADVISORY

UNDATED - Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until noon EDT today... <br /> <br /> The Flash Flood Watch continues for<br /> <br /> * portions of north central Georgia... northeast Georgia and <br /> northwest Georgia. <br /> <br /> * Until noon EDT today<br /> <br /> * rain with isolated thunderstorms will continue across north<br /> Georgia as the remnants of Lee move northeast across the<br /> northern portion of Georgia into Tennessee. <br /> <br /> Rainfall amounts of 6 to 9 inches have occurred over Dade... <br /> Walker and Catoosa counties. Widespread minor flooding is still<br /> occurring on numerous creeks. Elsewhere... 2 to 4 inches has fallen<br /> from Summerville through Ellijay to Hiawassee. Additional rainfall<br /> amounts of near one inch are possible through this morning. The<br /> watch area is generally north of a line from Rome through Forsyth<br /> to Homer. The rain will begin to taper off by after sunrise. <br /> <br /> Residents are urged to stay alert and monitor this situation<br /> in case quick action is necessary to save life and property.<br /> <br /> WIND ADVISORY<br /> <br /> .. Wind Advisory now in effect until 11 am EDT this morning for parts of north central and northwest Georgia... <br /> <br /> * winds... north 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.<br /> <br /> * Timing... winds are ongoing and should persist through this<br /> morning.<br /> <br /> * Impacts... abundant rainfall along with the winds from the <br /> remnants of Lee will allow for numerous trees to fall. <br /> <br /> Precautionary/preparedness actions... <br /> <br /> A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of at least<br /> 20 mph... or gusts to 35 mph or stronger are expected. Winds this<br /> strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile<br /> vehicles. Use extra caution.
