Softball: Buford whips St. Pius

BUFORD -- The Buford girls softball team won for the third time in four games Thursday with a 6-2 win over Blessed Trinity.

Freshman Tessa Daniels fired a four-hitter for her third win of the season.

Senior Kallie Case paced the offense with four hits, including a home run and triple, and scored four runs. Junior Rebekah Rude had two hits and two RBI, senior Lexi Overstreet had two hits, and senior Lanier Paul had one hit and one RBI for the Lady Wolves (6-6).

Buford scored a run in the first to take the quick lead and then added three more in the seonc. The Lady Wolves made it 5-0 in the fourth before Blessed Trinty cut the lead to 5-2 with a pair of runs in the sixth. But Buford put the game away with a run in the sixth.

Buford next will play host to the 9th annual Buford Invitational Tournament beginning Wednesday against St Pius/.
