Volleyball: Johnson drops 8-AAA openers

OAKWOOD -- The Johnson girls volleyball team had a tough afternoon Tuesday in its Region 8-AAA openers against two Class AAA top-ranked teams.

The Lady Knights lost to No. 5 Oconee County 25-7, 25-14 in their first match and then fell to No. 9 West Hall 25-14, 26-24 in the nightcap.

Sophia Love paced Johnson in the losses with six kills and nine assists in the two matches. Lindsey Anderson added one ace, six kills, seven digs and two blocks while Lejavian Ratliff had four digs, four kills, and five digs for the Lady Knights.

Johnson (3-9, 0-2 in Region 8-AAA) next will play host to Gainesville and Lumpkin County in another pair of 8-AAA matches.
