Hall County Coroner Marion Merck said 57-year-old Ehsanul Haque was killed in the crash on Gould Road at McEver Road.
"It was apparently a T-bone type accident," said Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell. "We did transport two adult females by ground to Northeast Georgia (Medical Center) in serious but stable condition."
Kimbrell said one other person was treated at the scene of that incident.
He said two juveniles and two adults were also injured in another crash occurring on Friendship Road at the rock quarry just moments earlier. The wreck involved a cement truck and an SUV.
Parts of Friendship Road and McEver Road were closed for most of rush-hour because of the wrecks and the cleanup that followed removal of the vehicles.
Kimbrell provided this break-down on those involved in the two wrecks:
Friendship:
2 children injured and flown to children's hospitals in Atlanta
1 adult flown to Atlanta Medical Center
All three in critical condition
1 adult male transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center
McEver/Gould:
1 adult male fatality
2 adult females taken to Northeast Georgia, serious but stable
1 "no transport" injury
