Volleyball: Johnson drops two non-region matches

OAKWOOD -- Johnson dropped a pair of tough best-of-three matchs against Winder-Barrow and Clarke Central Thursday in girls volleyball action.

The Lady Knights rallied from losing the first game 25-15 to take the second 25-13 but could not complete the comeback falling 25-11 in the deciding game to Winder-Barrow.

Johnson lost 25-22, 25-18 to the Lady Gladiators in the second match.

For Johnson, Lindsey Anderson had nine digs, Sophia Love five aces and six assists, and Karis Sloan added eight kills and two blocks. Kelly Chance had five aces and five 5 assists, Christina Petit had three aces, and Savannah Turk had three kills and 10 digs for the Lady Knights.

Lejavian Ratliff had eight digs and Kelsey Panter five for Johnson (3-5).

The Lady Knights next will play host to Oconee County and West Hall in a pair of key Region 8-AAA matches on Tuesday.
