Clermont woman charged with theft of jewelry worth $400K

GAINESVILLE - A Clermont woman has been arrested in connection with the theft of $400,000 worth of jewelry from a North Hall County home.

Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks with the Hall County Sheriff's Department said deputies were initially called to a burglary in the 6000 block of Mountain Meadow Drive on August 12. During the course of the investigation, authorities questioned
Linda Waddell, 48. Wilbanks said Waddell was arrested August 16.

Investigators were able to recover the stolen jewelry on August 19.

Waddell faces charges of felony theft by receiving.

Wilbanks said the investigation is ongoing and other arrests are possible.
