Teheran got the start on the mound for Gwinnett and earned his league-leading 13th win to help the G-Braves (68-57) stay within four games of Durham (71-52) in the IL South standings and 2.5 games behind the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (71-55) in the Wild Card standings.
Gwinnett's Stefan Gartrell picked up the game-winning hit in the top of the seventh on Wednesday, smacking a two-run single that scored J.C. Boscan and Matt Young and put the G-Braves up 3-1.
Teheran was spectacular from the mound, tossing 7 innings while allowing 1 run on 5 hits with 4 walks and 3 strikeouts. Cory Gearrin relieved Teheran and earned his fourth save of the season, striking out 4 in 2 innings pitched.
Gartrell led the G-Braves offense, going 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored, a stolen base and a walk. Boscan also had a multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and a double.
The Gwinnett Braves continue their four game set against the IL North foe on Thursday night at 7 p.m. in Syracuse, NY.
