Forsyth Co.'s first female lawyer dies

CUMMING - The first woman to practice law in Forsyth County has died.

Jane Kent Plaginos Mitchell was admitted to the Georgia State Bar in 1971. Mitchell was also a published novelist and columnist.

She died Tuesday at the age of 87.

Visitation will be at Ingram Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Ingram's Chapel. Interment will be at Shady Grove Road Church.
