G-Braves starting pitcher Steven Shell earned his third loss of the season, making a spot start for Randall Delgado -- who was promoted to Atlanta earlier in the day and won for the A-Braves.
The loss means Gwinnett (67-57) is now four games behind the Durham Bulls (70-52) in the IL South standings and 2.5 games behind the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in the Wild Card standings.
Shell lasted 3 innings, allowing 5 runs on 6 hits with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts.
Three players had multi-hit games for the Braves on the night. Stefan Gartrell went 2-for-4 with a run scored, RBI and a walk. Brandon Hicks went 2-for-4 with a run scored, RBI and his 16th home run of the season. Jeff Fiorentino also went 2-for-4 with a run scored, 2 RBIs and his fourth homer of the year.
