CUMMING - A busy schedule is a common way of life for almost everyone, and as we all know, it is sometimes easy to forget a few things if you are not reminded. In an effort to assist its members during these hectic times, Sawnee Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) is now offering a "courtesy email" service to its members that have a valid email address on file with the Cooperative.

This service is meant to help members avoid disconnection of their electric service. Sawnee EMC has started sending a courtesy email alert to members who are subject to disconnection.

This courtesy email alert is in addition to the written notice that is included on the members' most recent electric bill, as well as the courtesy telephone call that they would have received if they have a valid phone number on file with the co-op and happen to be past due with a payment.

"Being a member-owned cooperative, it is our goal to assist our members in any way possible. It is our hope that by providing them with this reminder, we can avoid a potentially uncomfortable situation for them and us" states Blake House, Vice President of Member Services. "We encourage all members to keep their email addresses and phone numbers up to date on their Sawnee EMC account; these are used not only for better communication, but it also speeds up service and response times if we have the most current information for our members".

To learn more about Sawnee EMC's services that exist to support those members that are having challenges paying their electric bill, they should contact Sawnee's Call Center by calling (770) 887-2363 or via email at [email protected].
