"Mike is a well-known and well-respected member of the recreational community in Hall County. We will need his strong leadership and deep knowledge of the department as we move forward with the restructuring of Parks and Leisure," Nix said.
On Aug. 11, the Board of Commissioners approved a new operational plan for Parks and Leisure Services that preserves the county's current parks and programs in spite of a severe budget cut. The plan presented by Nix includes a modest user fee increase, some staffing changes, and the closing of the Rainey Street main office.
"I'm excited and honored to be offered the opportunity to work with the staff in streamlining our operation and moving forward. I think we can do some really positive things and make Hall County Parks and Leisure Services more cost efficient," Little said.
