Hall Co. jailer resigns after arrest

GAINESVILLE - A Hall County jailer has resigned from his job after his arrest Wednesday on a disorderly conduct charge.

According to Hall County Sheriff's Colonel Jeff Strickland, the charge against William Osborne, 44, of Lula stemmed from an off-duty incident. He was arrested after an investigation by the Gainesville Police Department.

Strickland said Osborne posted a $1,000 bond and was released.

Osborne had been employed as a jailer by the Sheriff's Office since 2007.
