The county's public safety and public works personnel will be on the job, however, and the landfill and compactor sites will remain open. Many county services will also be available online as they always are: you can renew a vehicle tag or business license, find a new pet, pay taxes, and more at hallcounty.org.
County offices are closed one day a month as a budget-cutting measure begun several years ago by the county commission.
Meanwhile, Gainesville State College, both the Gainesville and Oconee campuses, will be closed to the public between 10:00-2:30 to allow faculty and staff members to participate in fall planning activities.
