DURHAM, N.C. -- There haven't been many Triple-A batters get the best of Julio Teheran this season, on Tuesday night the G-Braves pitcher again showed why, staying in command for six innings as Gwinnett stormed to a 9-3 win over the Durham Bulls in Durham, N.C.

Teheran moved to 11-1 on the season on the strength of nine strikeouts while giving up just one run on nine hits.

Gwinnett also dominated at the plate, taking charge early with a three-run first inning. Stefan Gartrell drove in one run, and Brandon Hicks doubled to score two more G-Braves, as the visitors cruised the rest of the way.

Both Gartrell, Hicks and Mauro Gomez finished with 2 RBIs each, while Wilkin Ramirez and Ruben Gotay also drove in runners, as Gwinnett sealed the win with three runs in the top of the seventh and two more in the eighth for a 9-2 advantage. Gartrell starred, going 3-for-4 with two doubles.

The G-Braves will take on Durham in game two of a four-game set at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday in Durham, N.C. The contest will be broadcast live on WDUN AM 550.
