Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks of the Hall County Sheriff's Office says the pair was arrested Tuesday night about 8:00 by deputies who had responded to report of a theft from a vehicle.
"Deputies responded to the Texaco Station at 6986 McEver Road, Buford, to a report of a theft from a vehicle," Sgt. Wilbanks said. "Upon arrival deputies discovered that the vehicle owner observed an unknown black male reach into his vehicle and steal his wallet. The victim reported that the perpetrator then
fled the scene in a vehicle driven by another male subject."
Sgt. Wilbanks says while the officers were investigating this incident, another 911 call was received reporting a theft from a vehicle at Burton Mill Park, located a short distance away off of Gaines Ferry Road, with a similar suspect and vehicle description.
"Responding Deputies located the suspect vehicle in Burton Mill Park and conducted a traffic stop," he said. "After a brief investigation, deputies arrested 20 year-old Tyrone Jeffries and 19 year-old Mohammed Alzear, both of
Buford, without incident. Both subjects were transported to the Hall County Jail, where they were each booked in on two charges of Entering an Auto to Commit Theft.
