Dawson County spokeswoman Cathy Brooks said commissioners voted Thursday night to hold two public hearings.
"The commissioners are seeking input from the public regarding the possibility of a reservoir for Shoal Creek," said Brooks. "And this would also include discussion on a low impact park and recreation area."
The public hearings have been set for September 8 and September 22 during the commission's regular work sessions. Brooks said the hearings will likely begin at 4:00 p.m. both dates and discussion would be limited to 30 minutes at each session.
The idea of building a reservoir on the WMA property is one that has been floated for the last several years by developers and legislators.
