First of all, Kevin Clingman had his work day interrupted by the parking garage shooting in midtown Atlanta that left a woman dead. From his 26th-floor office window, which overlooks the parking deck, he had a clear view of what had happened.
"We look outside the window and saw a lady laying face down."
Clingman, who is from Flowery Branch, said "we could hear those gunshots as if they were right outside the window...because, you know, the buildings are tall and it just echoed."
He said he never felt in danger because it was obvious that the shots had come from outside his building. The building was locked-down for a time, however, as a precaution.
A security guard was arrested shortly after the shooting which left one woman dead and two wounded. (See earlier story.)
Then, as the business day came to a close Friday, just hours after the shooting, Clingman and other employees of One Georgia Bank learned that the FDIC had taken over the bank. (See earlier story.)
"Friday was a very mentally draining day. This was a day I will never forget."
But Clingman was back at his desk Monday, working for a new employer, Ameris Bank - with thoughts of the shooting still fresh in his mind.
