HCSO deputy injured in motorcycle accident

GAINESVILLE - A Hall County sheriff's deputy is in stable condition at a Knoxville, Tenn., hospital after being injured in an off-duty motorcycle accident Saturday in North Carolina.

Sheriff's department spokesman Jeff Strickland said Sgt. Kiley Sargent underwent surgery on one of his legs after being airlifted to the hospital.

Col. Strickland said the accident occurred near Fontana Dam on a section of roadway known as the Dragon's Tail, a popular stretch of road for motorcycle riders.
