The NCAA also put Tech on four years of probation on Thursday and fined the school $100,000 for violations that included problems in the men's basketball program.
The NCAA said Tech should have declared receiver Demaryius Thomas ineligible after he accepted $312 worth of clothing from former Yellow Jackets quarterback Calvin Booker, who was working for a sports agent.
Thomas, now a Denver Broncos wide receiver who played at West Laurens High School, told The Courier Herald newspaper in Dublin that while he was offered money, cars, shoes, clothing and a watch, he never accepted anything. He says he feels bad for what happened to Georgia Tech.
