CLEVELAND - A man and woman are recovering after bein attacked by a rabid fox at their home in northern White County over the weekend.

White County Animal Control Officer Pat Cooper says the couple lives at the Innsbruck Golf Resort and were in their garden when the fox attacked the woman.

Cooper says she received bites and scratches and her husband was also scratched in the process of fighting off the fox.

Cooper said the fox, which died later, was sent to a state agency for testing and the county health department was advised Monday that the animal tested positive.

The couple has started a series of shots to protect themselves against the rabies virus.
