The state Court of Appeals had upheld the convictions of Robert Price, finding no mistake by the Hall County trial court in failing to instruct the jury that he may have entered the house by mistake.
At the time of his arrest, Price told investigators he had entered the house - which was for sale and had a "For Sale" sign in front of it - through an unlocked door while he and his two friends were looking for a home for his mother.
The high court's ruling reversing his conviction was unanimous.
