Search resumes in Lanier for missing man

GAINESVILLE - The search resumed Wednesday in Lake Lanier near Browns Bridge for a man missing and presumed drowned since early Tuesday afternoon.

Search boats began combing an area off Mountain View Park around 9:00.

The search began Tuesday afternoon after a man in his 40s reportedly jumped from his boat near the bridge about 2:45 and disappeared.

Another drowning Tuesday in Lanier took the life of a man whose body was found near Van Pugh Park. (See separate story.)

Hall County sheriff's search boats methodically went back andd forth across the water on Lake Lanier off Mountain View Park Tuesday morning
