ATLANTA - The National Weather Service says more showers and thunderstorms are expected across Georgia after rain disrupted some Fourth of July celebrations.

The Weather Service says storms are likely Tuesday night and Wednesday.

Rain disrupted the annual July 4 fireworks show at Lenox Square in Atlanta.

The fireworks display at Laurel Park in North Hall on the shores of Lake Lanier went off just about on schedule at 9:30 Monday night. (See separate story.)

In Henry County, lightning struck two houses a mile apart but no injuries were reported.

The state Environmental Protection Division issued a Code Orange alert for Tuesday in metro Atlanta, with the air quality index listed as an unhealthy 103.
