ATLANTA (AP) Federal prosecutors have charged five people with illegally distributing hundreds of thousands of prescription drug pills from a north Georgia pharmacy.

The U.S. Attorney's office said Wednesday the five worked at Atlanta Medical Group, a Cartersville pain clinic accused of serving as a front for the illegal distribution of addictive pain killers.

Prosecutors charged 27-year-old Jason Cole Votrobek, 32-year-old Jesse Violante, 32-year-old Roland Rafael Castellanos, 33-year-old Tara Atkins and 61-year-old Dr. James Chapman with participating in what prosecutors described as a pill mill.

Prosecutors said Votrobek, Violante and Castellanos financed and operated the clinic. Authorities said Chapman was its primary doctor and Atkins was the office manager.

Attorneys for the five could not immediately be located.
