ATLANTA - A group of young illegal immigrants plans to gather at the Georgia state Capitol to publicly declare their immigration status.

The action Tuesday afternoon is the latest in a string of such ``coming out'' events held by young illegal immigrants. They expect to be joined by civil rights leaders and community leaders

The rally inside the state Capitol is meant to protest a new law in Georgia that targets illegal immigration.

A federal judge's ruling on Monday blocked some parts of that law, but other parts will take effect Friday or on Jan. 1 as set forth in the text of the law. (See separate story.)

Rolando Zenteno, a student at Pebblebrook High School in Mableton, says he's participating in the rally because he's ``tired of hiding.''
