The storms Sunday brought a tree down on a Chamblee home and another in Lithonia, where four vehicles were damaged. WAGA-TV reports that heavy rain also damaged the ceiling in a building housing Grady Hospital's ambulance service.
Georgia Power says electricity was out early Monday morning for about 5,000 customers around metro Atlanta. The power company says it hopes to restore service later Monday.
Two fires, believe caused by lightning, occurred in Hall County during one of the storms early last evening and there were several trees in the county blown down. (See separate story.)
