JEFFERSON - Crawford W. Long Museum in Jefferson is one of more than 1,300 museums nationwide participating in a program this summer that offers free admission to members of the military.

The Blue Star Museums program is a partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, and the participating museums across the country offering free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families through Labor Day.

Leadership support has been provided by MetLife Foundation through Blue Star Families. The complete list of participating museums is available at www.arts.gov/bluestarmuseums.

Vicki Starnes, the manager of the Crawford Long museum, said "Our museum is proud to be part of Blue Star Museums, which gives us a chance to thank our military families for their service and share with them America's cultural treasures. We have always offered a reduced admission price for military personnel but now during this program will be extending complimentary admission to all active duty
