GAINESVILLE - Three people were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center following the collision of a Good News at Noon van and a dump truck on the southside of Gainesville about noon Wednesday.

The accident happened at Pearl Nix Parkway and Dorsey Drive.

Gainesville police spokesman Kevin Holbrook said the injured were a 12-year-old girl, a 14-year-old girl and the driver of the van. He says they suffered "serious but non-life threatening" injuries.

Holbrook said preliminary investigation indicates the van ran a red light, striking the dump truck in the rear "causing the dump truck to skid approximately 120 to 150 feet before coming to rest."
