The team finished third out of 56 teams in its classification in the event which was held last week at the University of Maryland.
The Davis "Uhhinged Structure" team had qualified for the world event by finishing first in state competition in their division back in April. Kim Carroll is the school sponsor.
According to its Web site, Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. Thousands of teams from throughout the U.S. and from about 25 other countries participate in the program each year.
