White Co. murder victim to be buried today

CLEVELAND - The funeral service will be held today for a Cleveland man, Tim Whelchel, who died after being shot and critically wounded during a domestic dispute in White County last week.

Cleveland Police Chief John Foster said today a murder charge is pending against Jack Michael McDonald, 69, also of Cleveland, who has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

The shooting occurred last Thursday. (See earlier story.)

Whelchel, 47, and his son, Scott, were wounded in the incident. The elder Whelchel's funeral will be at 3:00 this afternoon in Cumming.
