DAHLONEGA - Koyo Bearings USA LLC is bringing new jobs and adding production capacity of its roller bearings plant in Dahlonega. Approximately 50 production associate and salaried positions will be created, in addition to construction jobs related to the expansion of the facility.

Koyo, which celebrated its 30th anniversary as a member of the Dahlonega community last year, broke ground Friday on an expansion to add 70,000 square feet to the current manufacturing facility, which has 180,000square feet of manufacturing and administrative space. The $55 million expansion is scheduled to be completed early next year.

Company officials say they are receiving $3.2 million in financial incentives from the State of Georgia with the ongoing support and help of the Lumpkin County Development Authority, Lumpkin County Board of Commissioners, the Dahlonega Downtown Development Authority, Georgia Department of Economic Development and Georgia Quick Start.

"We are excited to expand our operations and offer new jobs to the area," said Barry Beyer, Dahlonega plant manager, Koyo Bearings USA. "We've been a part of the Dahlonega community for over 30 years and look forward to achieving continued growth and success with our neighbors within the area ."
