Baseball: Pitching will be key as playoffs open

GAINESVILLE -- With three Division I pitching signees, on the surface Region 8-AAA looks to be a pitching-rich league. Then again, looks can be deceiving.

Of the four 8-AAA teams preparing for Friday's start to the Class AAA state playoffs
White County's David Sosebee is undefeated as he leads the Warriors into the Class AAA playoffs.
Gainesville's David Gonzalez is a dual threat for the Elephants, who looking to get back to the Elite 8 in the Class AAA playoffs.
North Hall has set 10 different offensive records in 2011 in finishing a surprising third in 8-AAA during the regular season.
