Elachee officials say nature-based preschools strive to keep children outdoors for most of the time, under supervised play and with "creativity- boosting" activities. Toys are usually replaced by sticks, branches, rocks, mud and water, and the child is given the freedom to use them creatively in a supervised environment.
Elachee is using an online survey to gauge interest in the idea. The 12-part survey, officials say, is limited to a small sample, completely anonymous, and the data will only be used in its aggregate form for statistical purposes.
