GAINESVILLE - There is more water in Lake Lanier now than at any time since early last May.

The level of the lake early Monday was 1072.14 following the torrential rains of Friday night and Saturday morning. Those rains totaled around two inches in places in the Chattahoochee and Chestatee river basins which feed Lanier.

The lake level Monday morning was about three-quarters-of-a foot higher than it was early Friday.
