Baseball: GHS moves into tie for 8-AAA lead

DAHLONEGA -- Class AAA No. 6 Gainesville moved into a three-way tie for first place with idle White County and North Hall in Region 8-AAA after knocking off Lumpkin County 5-1 Friday on the road.

Hunter Anglin tossed a complete-game, four-hitter to earn the win on the mound. He struck out seven.

The Red Elephants (17-3, 15-3 in region) were paced by catcher Skyler Weber who had two hits, including a home run, and three RBI. Stephen Mason had two hits and scored three of Gainesville's five runs.

Gainesvill ewill play host to Oconee County Monday in another key 8-AAA matchup.
