Baseball: North Hall holds off Lumpkin

MURRAYVILLE -- Chris Stevens tossed a complete game yielding seven hits with and striking out nine to lead North Hall to a 6-4 win over Lumpkin County Wednesday in Region 8-AAA action.

The win kept the Trojans (15-4, 14-3 in region) within one-game of first place White County and just one-half game behind second place Gainesville in the standings.

Hamilton Harper led an eight-hit attack with a two-run home run in the first inning. Andrew Smith had two hits and one RBI and Whit Bowen, Stevens, and each had one RBI for North Hall.

The Trojans led 4-0 after the first two innings before the Indians used a four-run third inning to tie the game. North Hall scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull out the win.
