ATLANTA - The Georgia ACLU is asking the state Board of Regents to repeal the policy banning illegal immigrants from the state's five most selective state colleges.

Azadeh Shahshahani with the ACLU tells the Georgia News Network the policy discriminates against undocumented students. And she says other state colleges besides the top five are now requiring proof of U.S. residency.

Shahshahani says, at a minimum, the hancellor should instruct colleges not covered by the policy to stop requiring proof of U.S. residency for admission. She says if the Board of Regents doesn't repeal the policy, they may sue.
