ATLANTA - The storms that moved across north Georgia during the night are moving out of the state but are leaving behind downed trees in some places.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for north Georgia through the daylight hours Tuesday, but the thunderstorms that struck metro Atlanta are ending.

The National Weather Service says it's received scattered reports of trees down from northwest Georgia to the Columbus area. In Atlanta's Buckhead area, a tree fell on a home, nearly splitting the house in half. No injuries are reported.
Georgia Power reported about 12,000 outages overnight. Many of those outages are in the Carrollton and Dalton areas.

Cooler weather is forecast for Tuesday, with highs around the state in the 60s and 70s.
