WASHINGTON - 9th District Congressman Tom Graves says the a last-minute deal that averted a government shutdown Friday night does not mean the budget battles between Republcians and Democrats are over.

House Speaker John Boehner informed the GOP rank and file of the accord, reached in grueling negotiations over several weeks. (See separate story.)

But, Graves told Georgia News Network "the next battle line is going to be with the 2012 full-year appropriation for the federal government."

The Ranger Republican continued until the bitter end Friday to blast the President and Democratic congressional leadership for their stands during the negotiations.

Graves pointed, specifically, to the Democrats' stance on one of their pet projects, Planned Parenthood.

As for the GOP stance during the negotiations, Graves said "we can't continue with the status quos. The American people sent a very strong message to curb spending and shrink the size of government."
