GAINESVILLE - The 52nd Annual Red Carpet Tour made a pit stop Friday morning at the Chattahoochee Country Club in Gainesville.

Industry leaders, including representatives from Elan Drug Technologies, King's Hawaiian and ZF Wind Power, met with members of the tour to discuss business opportunities in the area.

"I think it's all about personal testimonies," said Doug Carter, a Gainesville resident and the chairman of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. "I had a speaker associated with Elan Technologies, and Elan located here specifically because of the Red Carpet Tour."

Carter said Elizabeth Umberson with ZF Industries also shared with the group about her company's decision to expand their company in Gainesville and Hall County to include a plant that makes gear boxes for wind energy turbines.

Tim Rash, president of international company AD Technologies, said he was very impressed by the testimonials he heard.

"It really is a team that seems to work together across the whole state," he said.

The Georgia Chamber of Commerce began the tour to entice further locations and expansions for the economy in the State of Georgia.

Hall County business leaders, including Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce President Kit Dunlap, visited with members of the 52nd Annual Red Carpet Tour Friday morning.
