"Milltown Pride" tells the story of a young man who dreams of playing professional baseball, his rise as a baseball star on a mill league team, his fall from grace and his redemption he finds through faith and love. Set in the 1920s, the movie is produced by Unusual Films, a division of Bob Jones University.
The two-hour movie will be shown April 10-12 (Sunday , Monday and Tuesday) at 2:00 and 6:00 each day, and tickets are available at Demorest City Hall for $7 general admission. Cash or checks only.
Mayor Malcolm Hunnicutt said, "the cast and crew enjoyed filming in Demorest even though it got pretty hot in the all-wool baseball uniforms. The local setting at Habersham Mills was a perfect venue and, of course, mill league baseball is legendary around here and in every town which had a mill. We're glad to be part of Georgia's $1 billion movie and film economy."
The City of Demorest and the Demorest Woman's Club are co-sponsors of the movie premier. For additional information about the movie, visit www.milltownpride.com .
