Baseball: Elephants play long-ball, pummel Stephens County

TOCCOA -- Sixth-ranked Gainesville played long-ball Wednesday in taking an 18-5 win over Stephens County in five innings.

It was the third straight win for the Red Elephants (9-2, 7-2 Region 8-AAA).

Skyler Weber had four hits and six RBI to lead the Gainesville offense. Will Maddox, Hunter Anglin, David Gonzalez each belted home runs for the Elephants.

Maddox and Anglin would finish with three RBI apiece and Gonzalez had two RBI on a two-run home run. Stephen Mason had three hits and scored three runs.

Anglin got the win for Gainesville, going the distance and fanning seven while walking none.
