This year Atlanta tea party organizers say they're set to hammer home the theme of local involvement.
Tea Party Patriots State Coordinator Julianne Thompson says the movement was begun out of one big event in Atlanta in 2009. Now the focus will be on a number of small rallies throughout the state with a message of bringing the same principles of fiscal responsibility and limited government to the local governments and communities.
She said such outreach will important in continuing to build a grassroots constituency and to prepare for the 2012 elections.
Tea Party Patriots has grown to more than 65 local chapters throughout Georgia.
Tax Day is April 15, although the tax deadline has been pushed to April 18 because of a little-know holiday in Washington, D.C. that will close government offices on April 15 in the capitol city.
