Tennis: Chestatee boys ace White County

The Chestatee boys tennis team continues to play well in Region 8A-AAA.

The War Eagles knocked off White County 4-1 Thursday behind strong doubles play.

Pearce Gruenenfelder and Blaine Brown outlasted Preston Biggers and Ethan McCallister 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 at no. 1 doubles while Jeremy Atkins and Casey Campbell defeated the Warriors' Dee Chambers and Cam Seagraves 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles to clinch the match.

In singles play, Jonathan Cook whipped Jordan Casper 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 and Jeremiah Reed whipping James Bowers 6-0, 6-1, at No. 2 singles.

White County avoided the shutout when Joe Dockery won at No. 3 singles beating Chestatee's Dillan Stapler.

Chestatee improved to 5-2 in subregion play with the win.
