Dr. Wiley Newton said occasionally there is a little bit of confusion for patients since he shares a practice with his wife, Monica, who also happens to practice family medicine.
"I'll get records that should have gone to Monica or she'll get records that should have gone to me, but it's just little things" he said.
The Newtons joined the Northeast Georgia Physicians Group earlier this year after working separately in Selma, Ala. following medical school.
Dr. Monica Newton said as far as she knows, they're the only husband-wife team that practices together with the same specialty in the North Georgia area.
"Not only do we balance ourselves in a marriage, but we both bring different skill sets to the table in our practice," she said.
The couple's practice is located on South Enota Drive in Gainesville.
