ATLANTA - Heavy rain moved across north Georgia Tuesday morning for the second time in less than a week, turning already soggy ground even soggier.

The heaviest of the rain was reported in northwest Georgia. Nevertheless, northeast Georgia was getting its share. By 9:30, .79 inches had been recorded at Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport in Gainesville; .98 inches in Dahlonega; .91 in Clarkesville; .94 in Helen; and .95 in Braselton.

The rain is expected to continue through the morning and diminish later in the day. The National Weather Service also says thunderstorms are possible.

Dry weather is forecast to return on Wednesday. High temperatures are forecast to be generally in the 60s on Tuesday and warming up later in the week.
