OAKWOOD - The Oakwood City Council is moving toward amending the city's alcoholic beverage ordinance to include reducing the required seating for restaurants that serve liquor-by-the-drink, beer and wine.

City Manager Stan Brown says there are other provisions under consideration as well, including allow beer, wine and liquor to be served outside a restaurant already allow to serve such beverages - patio seating, it is called.

Brown says the proposed amendment would also clear the way for "brew pubs" in Oakwood, where a restaurant could brew and sell beer or other malt beverages on the premises.

The city council is expected to take a final vote on the amendment next month.
